DERMAL FILLERS

Fillers can restore balance, enhance appearance, and reduce the signs of ageing. They correct wrinkles by creating volume under the wrinkle and filling them out. Facial features can be refined, but will not be changed completely. These products are often used combination with other treatments to enhance the results.

At Lip Logic we use a variety of biodegradable injectable dermal fillers. Each of the products has different uses, indications, and side effects. This choice ensures that you receive what is best suited for your particular situation.

How do the injectable dermal fillers Work?

Basically by providing volume and support to facial tissues, thickening the skin.

Which areas will these treatment improve?

Dermal fillers can be used throughout the face to raise eyebrows, fill the tear trough, fill naso-labial folds and lines, (the area from the nose to mouth), oral commisures (sides of the mouth), fill the cheeks, raise the cheekbones, and also fill the lips or enhance the border of lips.

Are there any areas that cannot be treated?

Yes. Some areas are not treated successfully with dermal fillers. These areas are mainly, pinpoint holes and deep acne scars.

What is involved with the procedure?

Often the area to be treated is firstly numbed either with a cream, or with a nerve block. The dermal is then comfortably injected.

When will I see the results?

The results are usually immediate.

How long does the treatment take?

Approximately 30 minutes.

How long will the results last?

The fillers are influenced by the movement of muscles in the area in which they are injected. Longevity can vary from one person to another. Typically, however, longevity is 4 to 12 months. While your results will usually last four months to a year, you may need occasional touch-up treatments to refresh and maintain the correction. Your treated wrinkles and lines can be reduced nearly indefinitely with regular treatment.

Will people know that I have had a treatment?

As we have mentioned previously, the different products can have different post injection reactions. The anticipated side effects after any injection may include one or more of the following:

  • Redness, which may last 1 to 2 hours, and may be camouflaged with makeup.

  • Swelling, which may last 2 hours to 4 days, depending on the product used.

  • Localized tenderness

  • The risk of bruising. This risk can be minimized by discontinuing anti-inflammatories, vitamin E, asprin, fish oil, or alcohol about 3 days before the injections.

  • Recurrence of a cold sore is possible if your lips have been enhanced and if you are prone to cold sores.

It is common, however, for people not to realize exactly what has changed. You will often be complimented that you are 'looking well'.
